It has been more than 6 years since my family moved from Richmond. My business is established here, I’ve grown great working relationships in the DMV. So each year I ask myself, is it time to let go? Should I go back to Richmond this fall? There are so many amazing photographers I can refer my clients to. Maybe this is the year I keep my focus local.

I can’t do it, y’all. ⁣

All it takes is archiving your gallery from last year and I’m blocking the dates on my calendar - “RVA”. It’s not that I’ve been part of your kids’ lives since they were babes, sometimes before that...⁣

...It’s that they have been part of mine.⁣

And catching up with y’all and seeing who your kids are becoming...being sorta blow away by the latest version but also not surprised at all because they have aaaalllllways been like that… it goes deep. I don’t want that journey to end.⁣

Family photography goes deep. Nah, our genre doesn’t get street creds in the photo world. But by God, it’s heart beats. ⁣
