I couldn’t remember what Andrea told me so I Googled the name Caris for its meaning. “Grace, charm or favor” came up, Greek in origin, the one who is hoped for.
I met her family this past fall, shortly before her early appearance. I thought about sharing those photos first but I’ve never put too much stock into chronological sequence. With the New Year comes resolutions and goals with hope playing a vital role. This story feels more relevant right now.
And Caleb. I haven’t met a boy with so much love to give a new sibling in quite some time, maybe ever. He couldn’t get enough snuggles and kisses with Caris and I couldn’t stop clicking. Sometimes he looks to me as though he is protecting her, he’s already an incredible big brother.
Andrea’s mom was visiting while I was there, I love this generation shot:
While trying to recreate photos from Caleb’s newborn shoot I found a nook in his room with chalkboard paint. The photos we took there really became their own unique thing with one very sleepy baby receiving a whole lot of love.
There isn’t much more to say that the pictures can’t say better for themselves. May this year be abundant in health, love, growth and hope.
