Cherry Hill Park was “our park” when we first moved to the DC area three years ago. I have fond memories of playing on the playground with my son and throwing the frisbee to our dog in the big open space. There was one day when Fiver decided the green play house would be a coffee shop and he would be a barista so he approached all the parents and asked them if they would like a cup of coffee… for $100. I liked that he aimed high and wondered how many city kids play “coffee shop” instead of “house”.
Nowadays I return there mostly for photos because its so scenic and peaceful. The big grey barn, the trees in the distance, even the playground lends itself sometimes. Its easy for people to get to whether they are coming from the city or the burbs and there are lots of restaurants nearby so that families can make a day trip of it.
Next Sunday, 11/5, I have just a few spots still open, one in the morning and three in the afternoon if someone you know would like to jump on, contact me ASAP. I can’t guarantee the same great weather we got last year but I’m greatly looking forward to seeing some old friends and meeting some new ones.
Here are some of my favs from the same weekend last year, enjoy! (OK, lots of my favs from last year… too many… are there ever too many?)
