“Fall is coming” doesn’t have the same dramatic flare as “winter is coming.” And besides, fall is technically already here: it just doesn’t feel that way with temps near 90 degrees here in DC. So perhaps I should say, “fall FPD is coming…” instead.
If you are new to the Family Picture Day tradition, its all about choosing a place and a day in your area, signing up for a half hour mini session and getting a discount: the advantage for me is that I don’t have to drive all over Beltway to see everyone! I hate traffic so its a win-win.
Last year was our first FPD in Arlington and we chose Lacey Woods Park because of its familiarity to families as well as its beautiful wooded path.
The leaves of the forest had only just begun making their turn towards autumn but there were plenty on the ground and the sunlight filtered in some extra color. I’m so lucky to have gotten to know each of these families better over the past year, a big shout out to Kendra for introducing us!
If you would like to sign up for this year’s Family Picture Day in Arlington we’ll be getting together on Sunday, October 15th: there’s still availability in the late afternoon so just give me a shout through email. We have two rain date options open in case the weather doesn’t hold: 10/21 and 10/29 and I’m very open to location ideas. I have a few in mind but want to scope them out closer to the date before making a final call.
More fall-ness from last year’s shoots in Kenwood, Falls Church, Annandale and two locations in Richmond too. Stay tuned!
